We are delighted to announce our strategic involvement with BlackBark Productions and the Human Capital Institute vis-à-vis their inaugural Rising Star Awards Ceremony taking place on June 13, 2012, at the Montecasino, in Johannesburg. The Rising Star Awards aims to recognise and develop human capital talent under the age of 40 within corporate South Africa.
As you will be aware, talented young professionals are sorely under recognised and often undervalued in South Africa, and this ceremony provides a platform to unearth and recognise those inspirational and exciting leaders of tomorrow, paving the way for a bright future.
What is a Rising Star?
‘A Rising Star is any individual with tremendous promise and great talent. That person does not need to be a manager, or hold a position of great authority. When we talk talent, we talk about people who are on the move towards becoming a Rising Star, people who are the best of the best. They are individuals who possess amazing talent and tremendous promise for reasons that go far beyond their technical abilities alone. Not everyone is a Rising Star. Not everyone has the ‘right stuff’ (Lisa Martin and Betsy Jordyn, 2011), the qualities needed to stand out well above the crowd and succeed in today’s highly competitive landscape’.
