CGF bolsters its governance services (2012-08-30)

CGF Research Institute (Pty) Ltd is delighted to welcome Natasha Camhee to the growing ranks of its Lead Independent Contractors; this being part of CGF’s growth strategy to further assist its clients in the governance, risk and compliance arenas.

As an early pioneer in corporate governace reporting; in 2004 CGF started its business by providing its clients aggregated reports on wide ranging subjects such as the King Reports, Reportable Irregularities, Water Management, Director Duties, Integrated Reporting, Party Political Funding, Bribery and Corruption and many more topics of a similar nature.  Whilst the monthly corporate governance reporting services continue -- which is provided to CGF’s clients through its popular web-based Corporate Governance Body of Knowledge® -- the company has in recent years broadened its capabilities to include outsourced company secretariat services.  In this regard, there is an increasing requirement for companies to report upon their integrated performance, addressing their profit, people and planet factors, also known as triple-bottom-line reporting.  Clearly, beside the usual company secretarial functions, companies require specialists to assist them in this ever-growing, complex arena of reporting and compliance.  In many instances, companies are not always prepared, neither fully equipped to deal with the complexities which boards and their members need to deal with vis-à-vis the issues attached to governance, risk and compliance.

Expectedly, the topics associated with the organisation’s governance, risk and compliance is just one of the primary functions of a qualified Company Secretary.  In reality, skilled Company Secretaries are difficult to find, and their liabilities are just as onerous as their directors on the board.  Of course good Company Secretaries are not ‘just the minute takers’; these are highly qualified individuals who can hold their own in any boardroom, no matter the circumstances.  As they share the risks in the board, they are also expected to provide guidance as the directors deliberate on those matters presented to the board.

And so it gives CGF great pleasure to welcome Natasha Camhee as another Lead Independent Contractor, who joins the ranks of CGF’s other Lead Independent Contrators, namely Lucien Caron, Andre Barwick and Paul Aucamp.  Natasha holds a CIS qualification which she obtained in 2008.  She is also an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Business Management and a certified Ethics officer through Ethics SA.
