| Failed governance at Steinhoff (06 Sept’18)After declining twice to appear before parliament, former Steinhoff CEO Markus Jooste finally gave his version of what led to the company's collapse. Jooste denied any knowledge of accounting irregularities at the global retailer at the time of his resignation. The clothing and furniture group lost 95 percent of its stock value and around 20 billion rand in government pension funds.
